Just when I think I miss working...

I work and realize that I'm not missing much. I've worked the last week and a half for two different Jones offices and I really don't miss work. Working in Lisa's office can be fun because it's more like a paid vacation, but none the less I come home and my house is a pit, laundry piled to the ceiling, and not a single errand or bill is done. I'm always grateful for the money and the chance to work some, but it's reassuring that I made the right decision to quit. Honestly, I'm not sure HOW I ever had time to work. I've got more work lined up and I'm mainly looking forward to it, but it always takes me as long to recover as I did work.

Phew!

Well, I think I fell off the face of the planet for a few months, but I'm back! This time I'm going to try really hard to stick with this. HaHa! Yep, I'm laughing too. In the past few months Hammond and I have gone to Seattle, got pregnant (Yipee!), had a miscarriage (BOO!), Sydney started preschool 2 days a week, and the weather is finally getting more spring like.

Hammond's birthday was yesterday and he's another year younger. HeeHee. Seriously. He told me how unhappy he was that he'd be 40 in two years. I said, "No, it will be 3 years." Then he preceded to argue with me till I did the math and PROVED to him that he's 37 and not 38. HaHaHaHa!!! Hence, I just made him another year younger. He should love me a lot. :)

Sydney and I are making him a cake today. She has artistic control, so I'm sure it will be beautiful. That's all for now!

I'm 32 years old!

Funny, I think I've felt the same age since I was 25. I guess that's a good thing. Yesterday I got a free coffee for my birthday. To think just 11 years ago I was excited to get free shots at the bar. Now it's a latte. HA!HA! Anyway, it was a great day. I got more things to support my photography habit (tamrac bag, photoshop 6). Then Sydney and Jill had a sleep over. Oh what fun!

Heading to Seattle

I can't wait! Only 28 more days till Hammond and I go to Seattle. This will be our first trip without Sydney. She will stay with Jen and Matt. Our trip will be 5 nights and 6 days. I'm sure February isn't an ideal time to go to Seattle, but I'm just ready to go on a vacation. We've already got reservations to eat dinner at the Space Needle. Hammond's excited to check out the EMP (Experience Music Project). With the exception of a few trips to Wyoming, this will be our first trip to somewhere other than Vegas, somewhere in Utah, or my parents. We're both looking forward to a change in pace. I'm thinking we need to check out Starbucks or Seattle's Best Coffee while we're there. Maybe Mt Saint Helen's? I'm sure I'll have lots of pictures when we get back.

Here we go!

This is the official beginning of my blogging life. I must admit when I first heard about blogging it seemed self important and ridiculous. Buuuuuuut, since we have so many friends and family that live a fair distance away I'm realizing this could be a really great tool for keeping up with people. So let's get this thing going. First, I'm sure you already know I'm happily married to my sweet husband, Hammond. Although we only have one child (so far) it may often times appear that I have 3 kids. Mainly because I'm so fortunate to live close to my sister and her family. With as much time as Sydney spends with her cousins, Connor and Jillian, you'd never know she didn't have any siblings. Funny thing is that I don't think Jen and I will feel we live close enough until we are neighbors. Good thing our husbands are friends.

Anyway, Sydney just turned 3 in December. She's decided that turning 3 means she is finally a big girl and can do everything by herself. This often results in her wearing pajamas till noon or wearing dresses when it's 30 degrees out. Oh well. I'll pick my battles. Sydney wearing red sparkly shoes with pajama bottoms isn't one of them.

Jillian is four. She's been attending preschool three days a week this year and loves it. I'll be interested to see how she handles it next year when Sydney's in school and it's no longer just her school. Jill is as girly as they come. She loves anything pink, princess, pony, ballerina, fairy, frilly, and more.

Connor is eight and all boy. He played football for the first time this year. He's also taking gymnastics, wrestling, and swimming when there's time. He's now decided he wants to do baseball, too. Connor is fantastic with the girls, too. He loves to dress up (usually as a clown) and make everyone laugh. He's an excellent leader (when Sydney's not bossing everyone around).

There's the intro. Don't be strangers. Be sure to update us on your life, too!
